Ki Hydrogen combines world leading scientific expertise in biomass electrolysis, engineering experience of hydrogen at the largest scale and over a decade of bringing novel technologies to market in startups.

Michael Stanton, PhD

Michael has a strong scientific and research background, covering materials engineering, chemistry, and a PhD in physics/nanotechnology from the University of Cambridge. His recent work focused on novel methods for generation of green hydrogen from waste materials.

Koji Muto, MBA

Koji drove development for an $800M hydrogen project as a senior engineer at ExxonMobil. He was an early hire at a small modular nuclear reactor startup ($3M raised) and at a direct-air-capture startup ($1.25M raised). MBA from London Business School.

Carl Banbury, PhD

Carl has over 10 years of startup experience driving businesses from early MVPs to multi-million-pound revenue products, alongside a multidisciplinary PhD from the University of Birmingham in translational technology designing and patenting novel diagnostic devices.

Yue (Vivian) Wen, PhD

Vivian holds a Masters and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University College London, where she focused on electrochemistry for redox flow batteries and achieved a 10% improvement in battery energy efficiency. She continued as a Research Fellow, developing novel electrolysers.

Samuel Bates, PhD

Sam holds a PhD in Chemistry from Cardiff University, where he designed novel catalysts for the synthesis of advanced biofuels and carbon dioxide utilisation. He was previously at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), developing analytical methods for assessing hydrogen fuel quality.

Matthew Bidwell, PhD

Matt holds a PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College London where he designed catalysts for green hydrogen production. He continued as a Research Fellow focusing on electrochemical oxidation of biomass to hydrogen and a Enterprise Fellow at the Royal Academy of Engineering developing sustainable plastic recycling technologies..
